Urine Samples During Your Pregnancy

At your very first visit when we obtain your history, we will need a urine specimen. We will ask you to collect your urine in a sterile cup provided by our office. Please follow the directions in the bathroom for obtaining a clean catch specimen. Your urine will be sent to an outside laboratory and a urine culture will be performed.

On your subsequent visits, we ask that you please sign in at the front desk and then you may go directly to a bathroom to obtain a urine specimen. Please write your name on one of the cups located in the bathroom, urinate into the cup and place the cup in the turning specimen collector. You may then have a seat in the waiting room until the clinical assistant calls you back or she may be ready to obtain your vital signs after you have left your specimen.
