Dr. David Henderson grew up in the Washington, D.C. area. He
graduated with honors from Brigham Young University in 1977 with a Bachelor of
Science in Zoology. After earning his MD degree at the Medical College of
Virginia in 1981, he completed residency training in OB-GYN at Duke University
Medical Center in 1985.
Dr. Henderson joined Dr. Gary Haakenson here in Raleigh in
July 1985 and has practiced at Rex Hospital since that time. He is
board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a member
of the American Medical Association, the North Carolina and Wake County Medical
Societies, North Carolina ObGyn Society, and The Bayard Carter Society. He
currently serves as vice-chair of the Rex Hospital ObGyn Department and is the
principal investigator of the Cord Blood Bank at Rex Hospital.
Dr. and Mrs. Henderson have five children -- three married
daughters and two sons. (In addition to liking kids, he learned that they
arrive free when you're an Obstetrician!) The grandkids have also begun to
arrive. In his spare time, Dr. Henderson likes to bicycle, windsurf with his
wife and white-water kayak with his sons. He actively serves in his church and
is a Scout Master in a local troop. |
